Island Spa Pool

Putting the spa on an island means the pool has to be designed around a crossing, which is exactly what makes the backyard feel like somewhere you have travelled to.

The design

The spa sits as its own island in the body of the pool, reached by a custom bridge, with a sun shelf holding the shallow edge. Integrated lighting is planned into the shell rather than added at the end, so at night the bridge, the spa wall and the water each read separately instead of washing into one another.

How we build it

An island spa and a bridge change the structural problem: both need their own footings, and the plumbing and conduit have to be routed under the pool floor before the shell is shot. Getting that right depends on the whole thing being engineered as a single set of stamped plans, which is how we build every project.

A resort crossing in a private backyard, with the lighting, pumps and spa on one automation system and a lifetime structural warranty on the gunite shell.
